The producer

Tim has a wealth of experience as an engineer and producer. After picking up a degree in music technology in 2004, Tim rose to fame as a mash-up producer for MTV under the cheeky alias of TimG( www.timgmusic.co.uk).

Deciding he would apply his mixing skills to band work, Tim worked his way around the northern music scene, attracting attention from acts such as Sonic Boom Six for his eclectic ideas and energy.

Today, having worked in a number of studios along side the likes of engineers John Pennington (The Smiths, The Happy Mondays, Moby, Paradise Lost) and Christophe Bride (Hard-fi, Zen Baseballbat) Tim has an arsenal of studio skills and prides himself on getting quality results every time.

With a history of recordings behind him (from artists such as Sonic Boom Six, Random Hand, Babar Luck, Above Them, Catch-it Kebabs, Dusty Not Digital, LAP...), Tim not only has the engineering skills but the artistic and directive abilities to get the best out of musicians and make their music work! Previous clients have seen their recordings give them the step up they needed to be noticed, and have gone on to play major festivals and secure record deals.

BigTone recording studios has everything you need to get top notch sounds. Boasting a large control room designed by acoustic specialist Andrew Parry (Gracieland) for a flat response, your mixes are sure to come out loud and clear. We also have two live rooms giving us the option of selecting the acoustical space that's right for the job. The 'dead' room is ideal for recording guitars and vocals, and the 'live' room is best when more room ambience is desired (drums, strings, brass/wind).
