LAP – ‘life among people’ – distort manchester records.

Credit where it’s due, LAP have learned valuable lessons from what Americans do so much better than us Brits and they have obviously invested in some decent equipment and paid come serious money to ensure that the recorded material on this EP sounds top quality. However, what the production does not hide is that this band pull in too many different directions at once, creating a confusing rather that a rewarding sonic tapestry for the listener. When they concentrate on coherence they create some interesting slabs of British-tinged hardcore punk, with a brutal metal twist, and for a part-time band releasing records on a bedroom label, rock sound has to admit this is flabbergastingly good. Consistent recording of this quality will not, shall not and cannot go unnoticed for too much longer.
